Circle Sounds is an activity that creates connection – both within oneself
and with others in a circle. It engages a community in a spirit of play, using voice in song and sound. Participants improvise in a way that includes the whole group using elements of call and response, echo, solos, melodies, harmonies, invented language, and more.
Improvisation within a community creates experiences which reach beyond the actual exercise itself that can enhance one’s personal and spiritual life. This is where the greatest, deeper meaning takes place.
Circle Sounds includes deep listening and trust, risk-taking, vulnerability, and a willingness to stay present…a true “out of the box” experience which cultivates openness, spontaneity, exploration, and transformation.
Are you thinking that you can’t participate because you “don’t know how to sing”? Please trust that this experience is not about performing. We’ll help you if you feel inhibited or intimidated. No singing or musical experience or skills needed. We promise!

ABOUT LYN KOONCE
Singer/songwriter and instrumentalist Lyn Koonce mixes the sounds of folk and pop, with a hint of blues, to make music you’ll remember. With her guitar or piano as a backdrop, her voice is both powerful and comforting—and her award-winning songs follow suit. Lyn’s latest album, “Begin Again” has been recognized by American Songwriter Magazine and charted in the top 15 on Folk radio.
Currently, along with performing, Lyn is creating sounds in the circle. She’s studied with Bobby McFerrin along with the creators of Musica Do Circulo in Brazil and brings circle singing (CircleSounds) to organizations and the community through team development as well as to her shows. This is Lyn’s first time presenting for The School. We are delighted to have her and grateful to her for sharing her gifts with us. We do hope you’ll join us for this unique experience!

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel before one week prior to the event, you will get a refund minus a $10 processing fee. If you cancel within one week of the event, there is no refund. If you cancel due to unavoidable circumstances, please discuss this with us.
