Mindfulness and Meditation: An Introductory Experience

Facilitated by Bob Richardson & Ken Frazier

Meditation and mindfulness are time-honored ways for expanding conscious awareness and creating a state of presence. Through this program, you will learn the theory and fundamentals of mindfulness, experience various methods of meditation, and engage in meaningful discussion about your spiritual path in a small community.

Whether you are new to meditation or have a practice which you’d like to deepen, this experience very well could be for you. The program includes a half-day workshop and 4 follow-up group sessions for meditation and discussion.

Specifically, in the workshop and the follow-up sessions, you will:

  • Learn the 3 basic skills of mindfulness – Attention, Kindness and Acceptance
  • Begin to develop an Inner Observer which enables us to use our powers of intention and attention in both meditation as well as in our everyday lives
  • Become skillful in identifying and diminishing the 4 “habits” which keep us stuck in painful cycles – Wanting, Distraction, Resisting, and Doing

About Your Facilitators:
Individually, Ken and Bob have been working with the practices of mindfulness and meditation for many years. Bob has studied several systems of meditation over the last 40 years and has spent significant time with a number of highly respected spiritual teachers in India and elsewhere. In his counseling work, Ken has successfully used the relaxation and mindfulness process to guide clients in focusing attention and deepening consciousness through guided meditation. They both advocate mindfulness and meditation as a cornerstone in spiritual growth and awakening.

Dates & Times:
Workshop on Sat., Sept. 28 ~ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm You must attend the workshop to participate in the group sessions. Four Group Sessions on Wed., Oct. 2, 9, 16 & 23 ~ 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Cost:

$100-$160. Pay what you can in this range.

If you cancel before 1 week prior to the event, you will get a refund minus a $10 processing fee. If you cancel within 1 week of the event, there is no refund. If you cancel due to unavoidable circumstances, please discuss this with us.
